SFDACosmetics And Perfumery Products Certification Programme

What you need to know if you’re Exporting SFDA regulated Cosmetics and Perfumery Products to Saudi Arabia

Exporters and Importers trading in Cosmetics and Perfumery Products to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) need to comply with the requirements of the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) in order to clear their Cosmetics and Perfumery Consignments at the KSA Customs upon its arrival at KSA Ports and Borders.

Obtaining a Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is mandatory for all Cosmetics and Perfumery Consignments to KSA from any Country of Supply. The Saudi Food and Drug Authority has appointed Intertek as one of the approved service providers since 2011 to provide Conformity Assessment Services for exports of these products to the Kingdom. Intertek is authorized to issue the mandatory Certificate of Conformity which is required for KSA Customs Clearance.

SFDA launched its own new online single-window system called FASEH for receiving requests for the Certification of Cosmetics and Perfumery Product consignments from KSA Importers and for the issuance of CoCs. This single-window system was in a voluntary testing phase since 11th July 2021 and SFDA announced the date for mandatory migration to the new system starting from 3rd October 2021.

Exporters are requested to contact local Intertek Offices to understand and comply with the requirements of SFDA to ensure uninterrupted export of their products to KSA.
